Kanin Club at Technohub

I am never a fan of dining out to eat Filipino food, precisely because we can cook them at home! Dining at Filipino restaurants is usually reserved for balikbayan relatives :) But this one’s kind of different.

Why You’ll Love It:
* Their famous Crispy Dinuguan is scrumptious. Basically it’s dinuguang lechong kawali. It was savory (malinamnam describes it better) and yes it did taste good.

* We also ordered Adobong Kangkong and Pinakbet which are both well-seasoned. malinamnam talaga :) I really do hope their food is not drowned in MSG though..

Price Range: P200-P400 with each viand good for 2-3 people (actually for us I think it was good for 4.. :) )

Some Caution:
* when they say its crunchy/crispy, it is. so try to order food with complementing textures :) we ordered crispy dinuguan and the pinakbet also had crunchy pork, so well, our molars had a challenging time towards the end of the meal.

* you know when you eat too much of something, it gets back at you? well the consequence of the malinamnam element is the nakakaumay/nakakasuya factor. So be wary, eat just right :) i suggest that if you start to feel the umay factor and no one’s willing to finish it, just stop :) or else it might ruin the dining experience.

* This place is usually full so you’d have to wait to be seated. That is, if your tastebuds are willing to wait.

* UP-Technohub parking was once free, but now I think its P40 for the 1st 2 hours and some amount for the succeeding hours. well it’s a consideration for me ;)

Where to find it:
We tried the UP-Technohub Kanin Club branch in Commonwealth Ave. near UP Diliman. There’s another one in Alabang.

Click this link for more details on the South branch.
